The Start of Something New

Written for The Twin Exchange Monthly Challenge!! Prompt: Snow Pairing: Draco Malfoy and Ginny Weasley Quote: "I'm not cleaning that up." Theme: New Years

It was New Year's Eve and Ginny was at the bar with Hermione and Luna. Harry and her had broken things off about two months ago because she had found him cheating on her, more then once. Tonight was the first night she was actually going out since the break up. She planned to get drunk to the point where she wouldn't remember any of the night. She really didn't want to. This would be the first New Year she would have and not be happy about something. She looked at her watch and noticed it was five minutes to midnight. She paid for her drink and signaled to Hermione that she was going outside for some air. As she stepped out she realized it was snowing. If nothing else this at least made her smile. She sat on the ledge and put her head against the cold stone wall of the bar. She took a drink of her fire whiskey and looked up when she heard the door opening. The first thing she saw was white blond hair and she thought for a second it was Luna. She was proven wrong when she looked down a bit further she immediately recognized Draco Malfoy. After the war he had changed a lot. He was more relaxed now that his trial was over. Harry, Hermione and even Ron had testified at his trial and their testimony had set him free. Now here he was celebrating New Year's just as happy as everyone else. Ginny sighed and Draco's head snapped over to her, clearly startled.

"Jezz Weasley you scared me," he said with a laugh. Ginny only nodded and continued to watch the snow fall. Draco frowned.

"What's wrong Weasley?" he asked.

"Nothing, I think I'm just going to go home," she said and stood. She swayed slightly and Draco grabbed her to make sure she didn't fall.

"What's your address? I'm not letting you apperate anywhere if you can't even stand straight," Draco told her. She told him and he apperated them to Ginny and Hermione's flat. He sat her on the couch and found the wireless. There was now only 30 seconds until the New Year and Draco and Ginny counted down together.

"Happy New Year Ginny," Draco grinned.

"What's so… wait did you just call me Ginny," she looked shocked.

"Well it's your name isn't it," he drawled. Ginny nodded and smiled. Draco leaned down. There lips were about to touch when there was a crack and Hermione and Luna were standing in the middle of the living room. Luna made a noise and suddenly threw up all over the floor.

"She had one to many fire whiskeys," Hermione stated, "Oh hello Draco."

"I'm not cleaning that up," Ginny said simply and stood to walk towards the door. Draco followed and the both stepped outside. The snow was still falling lightly around them.

"Well I should be going. I do have to get home," Draco said. Ginny nodded.

"We should go to dinner sometime Ginny," he said.

"Sure," Ginny said with a smile. Draco kissed her forehead and apperated away. Ginny stood for a second longer and walked back into the flat.

"Well I suppose that's the start of something new," Ginny said to Hermione.
