In the city of Los Angeles, when it rains, it pours.
There is no soft, gentle sprinkling of rain to cleanse the city. No, the skies open for the heavens, letting the downpour of tears soak the city to its very core.
This city is dirty and it goes without a cleansing for too long. The time between these showers are extensive, their existence – short. Never quite refreshing it all, the monsters will rise once more.
They crawl back out of the darkness of hearts, letting their poison seep out into this city of angels. Pollution at its best.
You can see them here, in your safe haven above the city. All around the city, there are shadows, the monsters creeping out again. The flashes of lightning are your only hope; it seems, to save your city now. But it's really not your city is it? You can see the monsters, gone with the flashes, killed only instantly, as they try to hide.
You jump at the rumbling of a thunderclap, another monster is gone. You slow your rapidly beating heart just thinking about your angel coming to save you. You smile, your heart is supposed to be stilling, not pounding into a dull roar in your chest. But you can't help it; just the thought of her face lighting up this darkened room makes you smile and your heart speed up.
She would laugh, seeing you sitting in the dark during a LA thunderstorm, knowing just how much they scare you. You could practically hear her smart ass remark now, "Jeez, Spence, here I was, thinking that I was the one who needed therapy, you're supposed to be all smiles.." Followed, no doubt, by her teasing laughter.
That smile that graces your face just thinking about her and her witty mouth would let her know that she's right.
A slender arm wraps around your waist and you nearly jump out of your skin till her small hand finds yours. You were so busy thinking about her that you didn't even hear her enter your sanctuary.
"Jeez, Spence," She giggles into your ear, "Here I was, thinking that I needed therapy, you're the happy one remember?"
And all you can think of is, 'Yes, now I'm the happy one…Even though it's raining in LA.'
