Booth stood his arms around his wife. Slowly he loaded up his truck. As Parker came out he took a deep breath. He was sure what pops was saying from heaven, if he could still see. Looks just like his father, dressed in those army greens. Parker had grown, and with his blond curls cut so close he looked more like a man then he ever had before. When he got to the bottom of the steps he hugged his mother, Dr. Bones was more of a mother than anyone else had ever been. She whispered in his ear and hugged him tight. She kissed his check and he wiped away her tears. He glanced back to the house before going to his dad. Booth surely didn't like his son going off to war, but he couldn't help but be proud. He removed his Saint Christopher medal and slipped it on his son's neck. Parker looked up as the front door slammed open. He dropped his bags to catch Zac. He would be turning 8 this year, and looked both like a Booth and a Brennan. Parker dropped to his knees and hugged his little brother. As much as he wanted to make his mother and father proud, he was doing it for Zac. The war was raging and he didn't know any other way to protect his brother, this way he could at least try. Parker slipped his lucky compass from his pocket and handed it to his brother. Slowly he stood and Brennan put her arms around his shoulders. She had seen too many people drive away before, and couldn't help the tears that ran down her face. "Does he have to go mommy?" She nodded, chocking on her words. As Parker got in the passenger seat, Booth slowly drove away, and they all waved till they couldn't see each other anymore.

Zac had begged to go to the hospital when he heard, but they both shook their head. When Parker came home Booth helped him out of the truck and into his seat. Zac hugged his brother, almost ten and he was finally the same height, even if Parker was sitting down right now. Zac begged to help push his brother to the house. Two years in war couldn't callous a man as soft as Parker, and the tears rushed to his eyes. Zac slipped his compass back as Parker hung the medal around Zac's neck.
