Hi everybody. This is a little Brackendra one shot, though I might add more to it. This is also my first story so please review. Constructive criticism would be extremely helpful. Also these chapters will be in no particular order. Suggestions? I would love to hear them! I do not own Fablehaven or the wedding vows, though I did critique the vows somewhat.
To say that Kendra was jittery was an understatement and a blatant lie. Nervous wreck would be more accurate. She was taking dep breaths to calm herself down …and she was sure that the big, white dress had felt much less heavy at the bridal salon.
Her dad was walking her down the isle. After much grief he had finally decided that Bracken would make a suitable groom for his daughter. Kendra wore an A-line gown that was plain white silk with delicate, white lace covering it and a small, elegant train. She had on a pair of the purest, long white gloves that came just past her elbows. Her hair was curled into a fancy up do with a small, silver tiara decorated with diamonds. The music changed. Now was her Que. She failed miserably at calming herself down; but, grinned and bared it anyway.
Wow. Was the immediate reaction in Bracken's head when he saw her walking. He had never seen anything like that…like her before. She was breathtaking. Kendra could see Bracken clearly through the entrance to the gazebo and she smiled brilliantly. When she reached Bracken her smile grew even more. He took her hand and they began the service.
"Kendra, I take you to be my wife from this time onward,
to join with you and to share all that is to come, to be your faithful husband, there is no one I would rather spend the rest of my life with.
I promise to offer you comfort and council, joy and happiness and a loving hand to hold at all times. This is a commitment made in love, kept in faith, and eternally made new. So, as I give you this ring let me remember all the times we shared together, and should I ever fail my duties to you let this ring bring be back to remembrance."
"Bracken, as I stand here before you, my eyes looking so deeply into yours, I see all of the things I fell in love with. The kind, compassionate, protective, man I fell in love with. As I stand I find myself so lost for the right words to say. With every smile, every embrace, every tear you've ever wiped from my face I grew to love you more. You make me remember every laugh we've ever shared, every hard time we made it through together, and every beautiful moment there is to come. I have no doubt in my mind that I will love you 'til the end of my days. So, as I give you this ring let me remember all the times we shared together, and should I ever fail my duties to you let this ring bring be back to remembrance. "
After the vows were completed Bracken leaned down and kissed her. As they walked back down the isle tighter they had never felt happier.
The reception was beautiful, Kendra danced the night away. She had made important promises and wanted to see them through. The food and drink were plentiful and there was a wide variety. The gazebos were wonderfully decorated with flowers of all kinds courtesy of the fairies and everybody danced the night away. The couple had never been happier, and that is just how they wanted it.
