Ziva was busy at home getting ready to go to the traditional after-case drinks. Tony was supposed to be there to pick her up in less than five minutes and she still had to pick out what to wear. As she opened her closet to search for the perfect dress, she heard a knock at the door.
He is here already? I am not ready!
She went to the door, still dressed in her work clothes and hair laying naturally down, flowing softly over her shoulders. Just the way she knew he liked it. She took a breath, fixed her hair and opened the door. She welcomed him with a huge hug.
'You are here early! I have not even picked out an outfit yet!'
'Ok babe, I'll wait in here. But hurry! I have a surprise for you!' He said as he made a B-Line for the couch and made himself at home, searching for the remote.
She looked back at him questioningly. What was he suggesting? She decided to ignore it and hurry to pick out an outfit. After about ten minutes of searching, she found a flattering, red strapless dress. She came out of the room and Tony nearly gasp.
'Honestly, I don't deserve you!' He admitted as he grabbed her hand and brought her closer to him. They stood there for a few seconds, just trapped in each other eyes.
Ziva then torn away from him, 'We are going to be late… maybe we should get going?'
They went down to his car and he opened the door for her, like a real gentlemen. Even this small act made her all butterflies inside. He closed her door and got into the driver's seat.
'Abby said she wants to meet at the park downtown, instead of the usual bar we go too.'
'Why?' Was this the surprise he was talking about?
"Don't know…' He said. He was lying, she could tell. But she decided to let it slide.
They drove to the park which wasn't a long drive at all. Actually it was not more than 5 miles from her apartment. When they arrived, Tony again opened the door for her, making her again get those butterflies that made her blush a little. It was a beautiful night, clear skies and the stars were out. Street lamps lit the path. Tony grabbed her hand and intertwined their fingers.
Could this night get anymore perfect? She thought to herself as she gazed up to the stars. Tony led her down the walkway to the meeting spot he and Abby had agreed on. Everyone was there, McGee, Abby, and Gibbs even Ducky and Palmer where there.
They exchanged casual conversation but Ziva could tell that something was up. They were acting strangely. They were hiding something. She knew that for certain. After a few minutes of trying to figure out what was up she looked up to Tony who seemed nervous. Then she saw him go down to a knee. She reacted and reached her hand out to help him up but he didn't take it. She stood there for a moment just looking him. Making sure he was ok.
What.. the…
Abby and McGee both had smiles that went from ear to ear, they knew it was coming. Ziva stood there looking down at Tony in the dimmly lit night. He took something out of his coat pocket and she instantly understood.
Oh my god, he is going to propose. Shocked was an understatement. But so was excited.
'Ziva David,' He started and took a dramatic pause. 'Will you marry me?' He ask her as he opened the small box he had gotten out of his pocket, revealing a gorgeous 3 mount gold ring.
'YES!' She almost screamed scaring a few birds from a nearby tree. As he got up he picked her up and spun her around in the air and landed a perfect kiss that seemed to last forever. When they broke apart Ziva looked at him straight in the eye.
'Just like in the movies.' She gasp and Tony looked back at her.
'I've been studying.' He said, smiling ear to ear and went in for another kiss.
