The Bounty Hunter

I've heard you call me reckless.

I've heard you accuse me of having no heart.

I've heard you say that I'm not to be trusted.

I've heard it all before.

I've seen you become nervous when I approach.

I've seen the wary look upon your face.

I've seen the way you fear to speak to me.

I've seen it all before.

Aggressive.

Heartless.

Mercenary.

You say these words or something like them

in the same breath that you mention my name.

You think only these of me,

like of so many others of my ilk.

To a certain extent, you'd be right.

To a certain extent.

Think about it, just for a moment.

Has experience really led you

to think only ill of me,

or do you merely believe the stereotypes?

It's true,

there are certain strengths I pride myself on.

But hey, I'm only human,

with faults just like anyone.

No, it's not all what you believe it is.
