I woke up to my ex-boyfriend stumbling around my living room in his boxers with no shirt on ranting about my new boyfriend.

I just stood there, blinking for a few minutes. "Um…Jackson?" I asked. "What're you doing here? And why are you in your boxers?"

His eyes focused on me. "Why Eric!" He yelled. "How'd you dump me for Eric? You can do better than that!"

I wrinkled my nose as the smell of alcohol hit me. "Are you drunk?" I asked.

"No." He slurred. "I haven't even finished my speech. So anyways, Eric's stupid. And he's dumb. And I can't believe you want to go out with him." He leaned on chair and the chair fell down, and he went with it. I stifled a giggle. "Eric's not your type. And he's not even worth you! You can do so much better than him. And I still love you."

"That's my-Did you just say you loved me?" I asked in complete shock.

"Where's he?" Jackson stumbled around, trying to find Eric, probably to strangle him.

"You said you loved me?" I asked again.

"Yeah." He was slightly cross-eyed now. "I miss what we had Mel. And I swear, you could do better. I've always loved you. And I still do."

"Are you okay?" I asked him.

"No."

"How many drinks did you have?"

"5."

"Of what, whiskey?" I knew that's what he drank when he was sad.

"Yeah." He tried to lean against a wall but fell on his back instead.

"Jackson," I began, but he cut me off.

"I know you miss me. You always think about me when you're with him."

"Gisele!" I yelled for my roommate.

She stumbled out, with no pants on. Her jaw dropped when she saw Jackson. "Who's the hottie?" She asked.

"This is my ex-boyfriend, Jackson. Jackson, meet Gisele, my roommate." I introduced.

"Is he drunk?"

Jackson ignored that. "What's Eric like?" He yelled, waving his arms around like a windmill.

"Um…" She locked eyes with me, trying not to giggle.

"Jackson." I interrupted. "We're over. We've been over for a year! It's time you got used to that. I'm not going back."

There was a pause.

"I guess I'll just…leave." Jackson said. I nodded.

"That's what I've been trying to do for a year."
