Time. She mused was as strange as the Doctor could be. Sometimes even she didn't quite know where they were going. Mostly though she had an idea, he had an idea. They followed it up. That was what they did. The Doctor would have some sort of thought and they would just up and leave. The Doctor and his companion, or companions as it now was. Three of them happy together.
The Doctor said his good nights as they least headed off to sleep, for at least some time. Though the Doctor had delayed leaving, so it was just him alone in the console room, he picked up a book and began reading. Making comments about it now and again to apparently himself; least that's what anyone would think.
Though he was far from alone, a flicker somewhere behind where the Doctor sat, the slightest change in the shadows. It was time to enjoy some peace and quiet while those two slept. The Doctor must have read all of two pages before he put the book down. He was enjoying the quiet again. Wouldn't be long until Jack appeared again, claiming not to be able to sleep, the idea of this made her laugh, the Doctor was curious with her for that, she didn't intend to explain.

He stood to leave the console room, pausing a moment to rest a hand on the console.
"Night." Was all he said as he left.
Good night. The TARDIS replied.
