It was finally,
Finally over.
Years and years of
This fighting.
And it had
Just ended.
Blink, and you could
Miss it.
So there was
Lots and lots
Of excitement.
There was
Singing,
And dancing,
And clapping,
And smiling,
And laughing,
And love.
And there were
Tears,
And comforting words,
And broken hearts,
And emptiness,
And never-agains,
And impossible wishes.
It was a sea
Of emotions,
None of them certain.
There was regret
Mixed with memories.
There was fear
(And there always would be),
And in it was relief.
And there was
A bit of hatred, too,
That disguised
The love beneath.
And no one
Knew at all
What to do.
So they turned the music
Up loud.
And they sang,
And they danced,
And they smiled,
And they clapped,
And they laughed,
And they loved.
And the sadness
Was almost forgotten.
(Almost.)
AN: I really should have posted this sooner. I wrote this in early May, and now it's nearly June. Same difference, though. Anyway, what do you think of the title? I couldn't really think of one that captured this well. Do you think this title is okay? I'm truly terrible at that sort of thing. First I wanted to call it something like Bliss, but I wanted to point out that there isn't only happiness in the air. Hm... Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoyed it. Have a good summer.
