At the end of a trial, the victims are allowed to make a Victim Impact Statement. This statement is then read by them, in the courtroom in front of the judge, the jury and the perp before a verdict is drawn.

I decided that the detective's would have given VIS's in court. This is going to be just drabbles of VIC's and all probably very short. Usual VIC's are longer. This first one is Amanda Rollins' Victim Impact Statement after Deputy Chief Patton rapes her. :) Enjoy.

Life is difficult. Some lives are ruined in a matter of seconds. Click your fingers. Bam. Someone's life is ruined. Whether it be by murder, suicide, abuse, assault, rape or any other horrific human activity, it's so simple. It was simple for someone to hold my life in their hands and destroy a part of me.

Deputy Chief Charles Patton took advantage of me. He took advantage of a young, hard-working detective who wanted nothing more than to be the best of the best in the policing world. And he shouldn't have.

I should have come forward back then, but until you have been raped, you will never understand my reasons. I should have come forward, for I knew he may strike again. I should have come forward so that Detective Reese Taymor was still a woman, not a survivor, victim, casualty.

You may be asking yourself why a sex crimes detective did not come forward about a sex crime. The answer to that is simple. I was scared. Scared of everything to do with being raped. And I regret not coming forward. But I'm not scared now.

Find him guilty, and make him pay for his abuse of power. Find him guilty and give his victims a voice.
