This is my first Charmed Fanfiction. It takes place in the unchanged future, just a little story that popped into my head about warning signs to Wyatt's eventual turn.

Disclaimer: I dont own charmed, promise. :(

Wyatt was the King of hide-and-seek. His subjects had tried many times to dethrone him but were unsuccessful. He was far too clever for his subjects.

He was a proud king, always boasting about his most recent victories. Although his subjects would revolt and protest, King Wyatt ruled with an iron fist, and forced his subjects to play no matter how unwilling.

It was for this reason his younger brother, Prince Chris, banned three words; 'Let's play a game.' To say those words was punishable by playing in solitude for a week.

Therefore, when Caleb, their new friend, said those forbidden words, he was met with a collection of groans.

Wyatt immediately perked up.

"Let's play hide-and-seek."

"Wy, why don't we try a new game?" Caleb looked in confusion at his friends.

"What's wrong with hide-and-seek?" His question was met with more groans and Caleb's confusion grew.

"See, Chris? Caleb wants to play, so that's what we will play. I'll be it. I'm counting to 50." So, the group of children scattered away with their heads low.

"And Chris," Wyatt called to his younger brother just before he ducked out of the door. Chris glanced back at his brother. "Do try and hide better this time. Your hiding spot last time was pathetic." Chris glared at his brother and ran out the door as Wyatt started counting with his eyes closed.

"One… Two… Three… Four…" Wyatt stood in the center of the room with his eyes squeezed shut and hands covering his eyes as he counted. When he got to four, he cracked one eye open, peaking through his hands to make sure the coast was clear. When he saw the room was empty he dropped his hands and moved forward.

"Five… Six… Seven…" He stopped counting as he moved out of the room and followed his brothers hurried footsteps as he searched for a place to hide.

This was Wyatt's secret, the reason for his success at hide-and-seek. He followed his friends and watched them scamper into their hiding spots, then ran back to where they left him and pretended he never left. Some may call Wyatt a cheater, but he preferred to think of himself as clever. It was self-preservation after all, to make sure that no King would ever replace him. Wyatt liked power and being King was the ultimate power; a power he was not willing to give up.

He followed each of his friends quickly to their hiding spots and once he saw where they were he ran back to the center of the room.

"Forty-eight… Forty-nine… Fifty… Ready or not here I come!" Maybe he shouldn't be able to see where his friends hide and he should play by the rules. But playing by the rules doesn't make you a winner and losers don't have power.
