Kento gulped as he sat outside of the local skating rink. He was about two hours early for his date, but that didn't really bother him. He could feel his nervousness seize control of his body as he broke into a sweat. This was going to be the first time for him to take Ayane on a date.
Finally, Ayane arrived. She showed up in her sharp, black convertible. The moment she stepped out of the car, Kento felt like hiding. He was so worried about what she would think about him and his lower class status. Ayane wore a full-length, shimmering gold gown. She looked like a diva. Kento reflected bitterly on the sad excuse for an outfit that he wore. He was merely adorned in kaki shorts, a t-shirt, and flip-flops.
"Let's go!" Ayane barked at Kento. Kento nodded, quite flustered with Ayane's irritability. When they got inside, Ayane went straight to the floor, already wearing her solid gold roller blades. Kento struggled to catch up. Five hours went by this way, and Kento was exhausted. Ayane suddenly dashed away towards the snack area, where people buy gross food.
After Ayane ate some nachos, she left. Kento felt defeated and went home. The next day, at school, Kento confronted his most trusted friend for help: Ryu.
They met up outside of the school, where no one could ever hear them.
"So what's wrong?"asked Ryu.
"Well, there's this girl-" Kento starts to explain.
"Wrong! I can't make anybody fall in love, remember?" Ryu snaps.
"Oh, but, Ryu, she's smart and fun and…" Kento interrupted.
"Pretty?" Ryu added, quite intrigue.
"Beautiful! She's got these eyes that just… and this hair, wow… and her smile." Kento enthused.
"Ami. C'est l'amour." Ryu chimed in.
"Ryu, I need help." Kento begged.
"Alright, Sparky, here's the deal. You wanna court the little lady, you gotta be a straight shooter, do ya follow me?"
"What?" Kento asked, knowing that Ryu was referring to a deep secret of Kento's that Ryu swore never to tell.
"Tell her the… TRUTH!" Ryu roared.
"No way!" If Ayane found out I was really some crummy street rat, she'd laugh at me!" Kento argued. The then parted ways, afraid of making each other angrier than ever.
