A Heavy Heart: A Trominic Fanfic
Chapter 1
Tristan couldn't think straight. His mind was overflowing with thoughts of the event that had just occurred. It had been a normal wrestling practice, nothing out of the ordinary. The wrestling team was sparring, the partner's changing after three rounds. He had sparred with his long time friend Dominic, caught up in the fight, when their lips had cataclysmically collided.
It was only for a second, just one second and yet it seemed so long. The two had separated immediately after realizing what had just happened, and before either could speak, the buzzer to change opponents had sounded, pulling the two apart.
Tristan was pulled out of his reverie by a real bell. Begrudgingly, he walked to his sixth period, where he saw Eliza, a brunette girl who he sat next to, already in her seat. As the rest of the students filled in, Eliza turned to Tristan.
"What's up with you?" she asked.
Tristan only looked at her.
"I mean, usually you're making remarks right when you walk through the door, or complaining about something someone said."
Tristan sighed, "I just-"
"Oh wait! I get it. I thought your eyes looked a little bloodshot." Eliza exclaimed, cutting him off.
Great. Here he was having one of the biggest crises of his life, and people thought he was just stoned. Just great.
Tristan looked down at his desk. His best friend Chase, who sat on the other side of him, passed him a drawing of a female performing fellatio on a disfigured male. Tristan chuckled when he saw it.
The chuckle got the attention of Molly, a tall strawberry blonde who sat in front of Eliza. She turned around and when her eyes saw the drawing all she said was, "Why?", followed by a giggle. Her palm hit her forehead as she repeated, "Why?".
Then, Aly, another blonde, and a member of the cheer leading team that sat in front of Tristan turned around. All she could say when she saw the drawing was a low, "Gross." Her eyes darted back and forth between Chase and the drawing. Everyone knew that Aly was in love with Chase. She just couldn't verbalize her feelings. Plus Chase was known to be highly involved with the local mob, it was best if Aly stayed away.
Thinking about everyone else brought Tristan back to his own struggles. His eyes scanned the room for Dominic, and finally found him sitting up front with the rest of his friends, his head bent low like he was working. But Tristan knew Dominic better than that, more than likely, Dominic was thinking about the same thing he was.
What was he going to do? Were things going to be awkward now? He couldn't take it anymore, and he burst out.
"I had so many fucking mangos yesterday."
Talking about silly things always helped Tristan get his mind off of the bigger issues. It was just who he was. Everyone around him laughed.
Molly continued with the story that she had said earlier,
"Yeah, so this guy just stands outside the bar, trying to sell salsa or cinnamon buns. It's ridiculous." She clapped her hands as she said the last part to emphasize her point.
"Oh gurllll." Aly replied, snapping her fingers in a Z-formation.
Tristan looked at the people around him. This would blow over. The kiss had been nothing but an accident. He was sure that he wouldn't have a heavy heart forever.
