Alice

I fell down that hole on purpose, you know

The stream it was flowing and the flowers on show

And my kitten had fallen through the depth and the dark

To follow the trail of a rabbit's footmark

They gave me no credit for what I had done

For discovering a country under the sun

For listening to hours of mindless chatter

From two men whose morals in stories were scattered

Who rambled on about oysters and fathers

To be honest it was the greatest disaster

And just as I ran away from the men

I stumbled on a tea party set for ten,

A house with a rabbit and a lizard, to boot

And an invisible cat that I wanted to shoot

But it was the Queen who went the right way about

She huffed and she puffed and then she did shout

"Off with his head! You Humbug! You Card!"

And then she did whack him, incredibly hard

And the King; he looked up to her, so ungraciously tall

His insignificance was the best bit of all

And then they did ask me to wake from the dream

But I stayed in the country where girls are supreme

So whenever men haunt you and life is too flat

Just follow the trail of the coloured moon rats...
