Motorcycles
"This is a dis-aster…" Richard Grayson said loudly into his best girl friend, Barbara Gordon's, back, holding onto her tiny waist as hard as he could. Normally, with anyone else at the wheel, he wouldn't hang onto them like this. But since it was Babs driving…
He was going to have to hold on for dear, sweet, sweet life.
Somehow the red head had convinced the younger teen to get one of Bruce's' many motorcycles and teach her how to drive it. She knew the basics— where the brakes and gas wore, how to turn the two wheeled vehicle on and off—, but had never actually DROVE one of the vehicles she loved since she was little. She knew that Dick knew how to drive one and that he had access to one, so here they were, in an alley in the abandoned part of Gotham. Dick was familiar with this part of Gotham; Robin and Batman patrolled this place quite frequently because of the drug dealings that happen all the time down here. Dick thought that this was the safest place to teach Babs how to drive.
"Chill, Dick!" Barbara exclaimed loudly, the wind taking her breath away, but she still managed to laugh hysterically while driving like a maniac. Babs thought that she was doing pretty well for her first day driving one of these vehicles…
"OH MY GOD, A WALL!"Babs screamed loudly. She knew that she had no way of getting out of the way before she hit the solid brick wall, so she braced herself for impact…
Suddenly Richard jumped off the bike, still holding onto her waist, bringing her with him down onto the disgusting cement ground in the alley. Less then three seconds after they jumped off the bike they heard the motorcycle hit the wall with a loud crash and turn off. They both breathed out sighs of relief because they weren't on it when they hit the wall.
"You okay?" Babs asked, concerned about her younger friend and his well being. Dick laughed. "Yeah, I'm fine, and I'm guessing that you are to or you would be yelling at me for jumping off the bike and dragging you with me and getting us hurt."
"You know me too well…"
Dick smiled and stretched out, wincing at the aches he felt all over his body, though they weren't as bad as when he was fighting as Robin.
Babs rolled over and eventually sat up as Dick was standing up. Turning around, he held out a tanned hand to help her up and the pale fifteen-year-old took the thirteen-year-olds hand.
"We're going to do that again, right?"
"It's not OVER-whelming, so yes, we can try it again…"
"YAY!"
"You're still going to have to learn how to drive CAREFULLY!"
Barbara looked over at the bike before paling instantly. "Dick… I don't think that we can have that other ride…" Bruce Wayne's ward turned slightly and looked at the broken bike from the corner of his blue eyes.
"Thank God that that bike wasn't one of Bruce's favorites or we wouldn't have a very asterous life right now…"
"How are we gonna tell him?" Barbara asked her tone fearful. Dick shrugged his shoulders before walking closer to his older friend. "I have a feeling that he already knows that we were gonna wreck it…"
"How is that?" Babs asked, shocked. Dick shrugged his shoulders. "He told ME to only drive."
Barbara sighed. "Seriously? Thanks for the moral support Bruce," She muttered pouting. Dick smiled widely at her, his grin contagious, making her smile too.
They walked toward the bike and picked it up, each grapping one handle and steered it out of the alley.
"Can we try this again tomorrow?"
"Sure, why not?"
A/N: And there you have it! Dick and Babs break a motorcycle!
