Harry had seen many strange and wondrous things in his years residing at 4 Privet Drive. He had done things so irrational, so impossible, he dared not think of it lest the mere implication bring a headache to his young mind.

He had turn teachers hairs blue, appeared out of thin air on buildings he knew he had not climbed, and had grown back hair in hours that should have taken weeks to grow back.

All past experiences were put to shame however, when an odd pink creature appeared out of thin air with a Crack!

It was pink, reminding Harry of the color of the sky as the sun rose, marking the beginning of a new day and the end of a night, of a tomorrow finally reached.

The creature had small ears protruding from it's cranium, and it's nose seemed to take up a large portion of it's face. It's tale was as long as Harry was tall, and seemed out of place on the small form of this creature's body.

All and all, the creature resembled to Harry of a hairless rabbit with a monkey's tail.

If this creature's sudden appearance in Harry's cupboard and odd looks did not astound and confuse Harry enough, the creature was floating in mid-air!

"Mew!" the creature yipped excitedly at Harry, and stared deeply into his eyes with it's own Cerulean blues.

"Mew, Mew, Mew, Mew, Mew!" the creature was chanting now, repeating the same three letter one syllable word over and over, though Harry hadn't the foggiest why. It was such an odd sound for an animal to make.

To Harry's knowledge, most animals growled or barked, mooed or oinked, but never ever mewed.

'another odd thing about this thing to catalog later I guess.'

"Is Mew your name?" expecting no response, Harry was shocked when the animal actually shook it's head several times repeatedly.

"Well, um... Mew? what exactly are you doing here?" Mew gave what could have amounted as a shrug in the animal world, and began to look at me once more in a curious manor.

"Mew, I don't think you'll like it here, I most certainly don't. The food is poor, the water dirty, the meals servings small. It's no place for any animal, most certainly not such a curious one such as yourself. I'll get you outside before my uncle or aunt sees you."

"Mew!" Mew chirped once more, but it seemed to have a pained twinge to it, as if Mew did not want to leave Harry.

It was wishful thinking on Harry's part, for what creature, man or beast, would care so much for an odd boy they had just met? No one was that affectionate, No one that caring. Harry knew this as surely as he knew to breath.

No one cared for freaks, and he most certainly was a freak.

Harry scratched behind Mew ears, thinking that some animals enjoyed it. Mew purred in delight.

Harry would miss Mew, even if they had only spent a short time together in the cupboard.

Mew had an odd affect on Harry. Being around the creature filled him with joy, and comfort he had never thought possible. This feeling surrounded him, filled him.

Mew seemed to sense what Harry was thinking, and turned it's head to the side. Mew seemed to be contemplating something, but to what Harry did not know.

Suddenly, Mew's tail snaked around Harry's waist. before he could scream in fright, before he could react, the two disappeared in a flash of light, off to a world similar and yet so different then our own.
