Chapter One- Dumbledore's Offering

As Harry turned the page of his picture album, Hedwig tapped on the window. He slid off his bed and opened the window. She landed on the windowsill with a light thud. She stuck her leg out and Harry removed the letter gently. He gave her an owl treat and began to stroke her as he opened the letter.

Harry,
Report to my office immediately. We need to have a little talk. Bring your invisibility cloak and don't let anyone know that you are coming.
-Dumbledore

Hedwig let out an angry hoot, and Harry realized that he had a clump of her feathers in his fist. He smoothed them down.

"Sorry, Girl," he whispered. She went back outside to the owlery. Harry closed the window and pulled his cloak out from under his bed. He went to the door and opened it. It creaked very loudly. A sleepy voice emerged from Ron's bed.

"Whatcha doin', Harry?"

"I'm goin' for a walk." Ron rolled sleepily out of his bed and began to put his shoes on.

"Lemme come with."

"No. I... I really need to be alone." He threw the cloak around his shoulders and moved swiftly to Dumbledore's office.

"Professor Dumbledore, if this has anything to do with those exploding ants at the first years picnic this afternoon, I-"

"Harry."

"Yessir?"

"Sit down."

"Yessir," Harry replied, pulling up a chair.

"Harry, I've noticed you've been missing Lily and James lately. I've shown you many visions of your parents, but I think you need more closure than that. This is the first time I'll be offering this... but I'm willing to let you meet them. I have talked to Professor McGonagall and the rest of your teachers, so you'll be excused if you decide to go."

"I'd LOVE to go!" Dumbledore chuckled lightly and brandished a Time Turner out to him and told him the rules.

"They are in their sixth year, so they have no clue that they are going to get married or have a son. Don't let on. Don't call them Mom and Dad, call them Lily and James. This is what they looked like during that time," he took an old book down from the bookcase, opened it, and handed it to Harry. A single tear rolled down Harry's cheek and landed on Sirius's picture, but Harry quickly wiped it off with his thumb. Dumbledore reached over and gently squeezed Harry's shoulder.

"Are you ready to meet Lily and James?" Harry grinned and grabbed the Time- Turner. He set it to twenty years in the past, said his goodbyes, and was off.
