It had been perfectly fine not ten minutes ago. Then he came.
"You just have to screw everything up don't you?"
He'd ignore her. He always did. Not this time though…this time he smiled. Damn it.
"Oh shush."
"You shush!"
He wouldn't stop smiling. "Must you do that?"
He ignored her. Again. "I don't see why you're so flustered. You must have seen it coming."
Oh no. Oh no. "I am not flustered. Hardly. Please."
He shrugged, still smiling, and she wondered how his muscles didn't ache after grinning so much. "It doesn't have to be a bad thing you know."
Ha. "Ha."
"Why must it be so complicated?"
This time she smiled, "You should know I always make it complicated."
He shifted, his arm coming around her shoulder carelessly, almost accustomed to the closeness. "You make it uncomplicated Sakura-chan."
She tried to shrug him off, "And you make it exasperating." She paused. "Idiot."
He only laughed at her, his arms coming around her waist. "It's gullible. Is kissing me that bad of a thing Sakura-chan?" He then proceeded to peck her lips once again as if he was unaware of the situation at hand.
She wriggled in his arms but they both knew she could get out if she wanted; it was as simple as that. "See?! That's why I can't stand you!"
He kissed her again, and she whined in annoyance, "Naruto…must you do this here? I'd really appreciate it if you at least waited until we aren't the circus show of the market place."
He laughed, "Your only pausing this for later Sakura-chan!" But he did instead grab her hand and ran excited up to Ichiraku if only to display the patch of sunshine in his life, even if the light faltered for a moment.
And when their friends studied the closeness of the pair, they realized that the hidden blushes meant more than a typical date. And as they scrutinized their small conversation, Sakura softly hit Naruto on the forehead with her chopsticks and it simply felt like it was strangely uncomplicated for once.
A small idea that burst in the middle of the night. Reviews only bring in more ideas like these, and charity is always greatly appreciated. I don't believe I'll continue it, simply because it's as tiny as a pebble...or maybe I just can't extend the idea.
Until Next Time,
Darkofthenight.
