They were a very peculiar couple.
They didn't fit the usual descriptions.
She by no means could be described as a damsel in distress. In fact he was more likely to be described as such. She did have the typical princess looks. Long flowing hair, a beautiful face and she was virtuous. But she was also intelligent, fiery and quite frankly sometimes very scary.
As for he. He couldn't always be her knight in shining armour. Sometimes he was the one who needed rescuing. Actually it was more like nearly always. Plus he didn't have a valiant steed. He had Keenser who was more like a coral then a horse. Sure he was smart and kind but he also ate like a pig and snored like on to. Not exactly her Prince Charming.
However that pair really brought out the best in each other.
When she was near him. Her greatly guarded defences came down and she allowed herself to be free. He was a relaxant to her.
He became more reliable when she asked it of him. Whenever she was there the Skeletons in his closet (Or the monsters under his bed) didn't seem as scary. He defended her honour and his Baby to the last breath.
Scotty and Uhura where the best possible couple.
They weren't perfect. Far from it. But they had love and the ability to lock each other out of their respective cabins.
