Once upon a time there was a boy named Uzamaki Naruto.
Who was going to save his best friend.
But that, of course was once upon a time. Now there's no boy, but a body rotting in the water..
And it all used to be so simple:
Hero against villain.
Man against monster.
Light against dark.
Good against evil.
And you, the other main character.
The manga called you the avenger, who needed saving. The boy who used his last resort. The boy who was the main character's best friend.
He'd do anything, for you.
He came battered and bleeding. The jumpsuit torn up but he's still alive to call out "Sasuke!" And stagger towards you
And you wonder how Naruto managed to miss the chidori at his heart. Your hear the scream as he fell headfirst of the rocks and into the abyss.
You watch him die and wonder why you cannot feel anything, only the ghost of his touch, of his smiles. And the waves flowing down.You don't feel Kubuto's hand on your back or Kimmiaro's stare behind you and you can still hear the haunting, soft voice whispering,"well done"
You've made choice ages ago. And you'll stand by it now, wearing your darkness like a badge of honor instead of shame because that's what it is now. When the hero falls, you welcome the oppression because it means that the rate of the massacre slows just a little.
It's all just a fractured fairy tale.
And you used to be just a boy who was considered as a brother. A comrade, a friend. But that was Naruto's downfall. He wanted to catch up and get acknowlagement you, but you pushed him back. And smiled.
And the more Naruto showed off and opened up the more the darkness grew and changed until it was as much his own darkness as Orochimaru's. Somewhere along the way, the boy stopped being the innocent and started being the deceiver.
When Orochimaru saw the boy again, he recognized his own darkness. He decided to keep his promise and help him kill the boy. And they carried out a plot that would damn the world to hell. It was a perfectly wonderful dark fairy tale.
You knew it would end with the world in chaos and loved the plot.
The friendship was a fraud.
You the villain.
The hero is dead.
Now the kuni's in your hands.
The body's at your feet.
The world's at its end .
The light is gone.
And once upon a time there was a boy named Uzamaki Naruto.
Who was going to save his best friend.
But he loved the boy.
Who held him in her spell.
He played at the hero.
But you cut killed him.
And Konaha' s hope fell.
And that is the end of this fractured tale.
