Pink
Sasuke took a swig of his drink, rubbing his head. He'd hit it in a fight earlier that day. He rotated the glass and watched the liquid create a small whirlpool that flowed clockwise. It was so pink, like, he couldn't place it. Maybe it reminded him of Karin's hair, no. Her hair was red, she didn't give him the warm, safe feeling that he was getting from this color. Karin gave him a feeling of annoyance. So, why did he choose her to be on his team? She was so irritating.
'It's because she was your first fuck, having her around is proof that you're a man,' a voice in his head cackled. He'd felt disgusted with himself after he'd slept with her, so why did he keep her around? Why did he pick her, or Suigetsu or Juugo? There were stronger, more able bodied shinobi he could have had at his side. 'So why did I choose them?'
'Because they remind you of your most important people,' a different voice told him. 'You didn't break those bonds, just covered them,'
'That's a lie!' he slammed his glass onto the counter. But no, it wasn't, and he knew it. Juugo was calm and kind, like his old Sensei, Kakashi, with a fatherly attitude. Suigetsu was irresponsible and goofy, but strong-willed, the kind of person who would never give up, like Naruto. His best friend, the one who he'd tried to murder, and for what?
Power.
The thought made him sick.
But Karin, he chose her above all others because she was like Sakura, and yet something else entirely. She was always pining after him, always arguing with anyone who contradicted him. But her hair, it was the wrong color. It was red, like…blood. It reminded him of the blood between him and those he loved because of his conquest for revenge. It reminded him of the crimson eyes of the man he'd betrayed everything to kill. It was dark, to dark. He was surrounded by darkness, consumed by it. And, he missed the light. He missed being happy. He missed…
Pink.
