Notes: I really love this pairing and this was just a short thing I wrote for a friend. I might try writing more with them.

The two boys would always walk to school together every morning. Riku was used to that familiar knocking at his door from the younger boy, and Riku would throw on his backpack and leave with him.

Sometimes Sora would be rattling on about something as Riku quietly listened. He'd make a comment here and there but often times it seemed as though he was lost in a world of his own as Sora talked about his homework from the night before or the last time he'd seen Kairi or, well, anything.

Today was different however, Riku was even quieter than normal. In fact, if Sora didn't know any better, he even seemed a little down about something.

Sora found himself stopping in the middle of a topic, glancing at Riku curiously as they walked along the familiar path to their school.

"Why the long face?"

There was a glint of surprise in Riku's expression as he was snapped back to reality for a moment before his expression turned sullen again. "It's nothing."

"Sure looks like an awful lot of nothing." Sora pressed. He stopped walking, which made Riku stop as well, looking slightly annoyed at the brunette. "That frown doesn't suit you, Riku."

"Just had a rough night." Riku said, looking away. "Just drop it."

"You need to smile more. It makes things a little bit easier." He suddenly reached to Riku's face and tugged at the corners of the older boy's lips, forcing his mouth into a smile. "See? Looking better already." Sora said with a laugh.

Riku shoved him, unable to hide the grin that formed on his face. "You're such a sap." He said.

Sora pointed enthusiastically to his face and grinned in victory. "Yeah, like that! See, now you're getting it!"

"Oh, shut up." Riku muttered, starting to walk again at a brisk pace, hoping Sora couldn't see the smile he'd painted on his face.

Sora raced to catch up with him. "You can't stop me!" He chimed, laughing.
