MASH isn't mine, as much as I wish it were. Don't worry, I won't permanently damage them. :D
When the shelling started, Ming-Tah had been terrified. It sounded like the world was coming to an end and all she wanted was for it to stop. She tried to hide under the small table in the corner, but her mother had pulled her out, telling her she needed to get out of the building in case it collapsed.
The shells kept coming and one finally found their tiny grass and scrap wood hut. The grass caught fire when it was hit and the light it provided showed a wound on her mother's forehead. "Mama!" She screamed, grabbing at her mother's clothing.
Her mother was still on her feet, trying to help her aging grandmother to move with them to the forest. Another shell fell, knocking them all to the ground.
"Ming-Tah," her mother said, "You must go. Grandmother and I will hide here, but you must go. If the soldiers come they will not care about us, but they will hurt you. Go to the American hospital base. Go to Hawkeye."
"Hawkeye?" All the words her mother spoke were Korean but that one. "What is Hawkeye?"
"Hawkeye is a doctor, he helped us before, when your grandfather was ill. He gave us medicine. You were working then. Go to him, and when the shelling stops. come back and find us."
"Mama, I don't want-"
"Go!" Ming-Tah's mother commanded harshly. She gave Ming-Tah a shove in the direction of the American hospital camp. "Go to MASH."
Ming-Tah nodded and started running.
