It finally began to snow! Yay!
To celebrate that and that Christmas is slowly coming closer, I decided to right this short one-shot^^
I'm sorry for my horrible grammar.
Disclaimer: I don't own FMA. If I did, Hohenheim wouldn't have left his family, and Edward and Winry would have been together for a long time already.
The Winter's First Snow
It was cold that morning, not cold like any other winter-day, but cold in another way.
Alphonse was the first one to wake up. The first thing he did was to stare out of the window, stare at the pretty and light snow that fell down outside.
It was always colder the first day of snow.
A small poke in the side was enough to wake his older brother from his sleep. He knew pretty well that Edward didn't like being woken up early, but the first snow was the first snow, and he wasn't allowed to sleep it over when his younger brother wanted out.
Trisha stood inside the kitchen when she heard small steps from the corridor behind her. She turned around and found her two sweet boys standing right behind her, waiting for her to say something.
"Breakfast's ready," she smiled and pointed at the table behind her.
Edward ran over as fast as he could, and sat down on his usual spot. Alphonse was a bit slower; after all, he was only two, not three like his brother.
When they were about to start eating, the door into Trisha's bedroom opened and the boys' father came out.
"Did I miss anything?" he asked as he looked at the three around the table. It was the first time he had been beaten by his oldest son. It was usually Edward how slept the longest.
"Come and eat, dear," Thrisha said with a smile and pointed her hand over at the chair between herself and Edward.
"Daddy, can you come out and play?" Edward asked his father, putting on the sweetest smile he knew about.
Hohenheim looked over at Trisha, who nodded quickly, before he answered.
"Sure, Edward. But let us finish eating first." Stupid thing to say. Just seconds later, both the boys where done eating, waiting for their father to get done too.
Alphonse sat safely in Trisha's arms while he watched his brother and father play with the swing they had in the tree next to the house.
Edward had his father pushing him as high as possible, for so to jump off and see how far and how deep he could go in the snow. Hohenheim had to go over several times to help his oldest son out of the snow again.
His mother only laughed as she watched her boys.
"Daddy, watch!" Edward screamed as he jumped one last time. He disappeared into the deep snow, making Alphonse go crazy in Trisha's arms. The little boy didn't know if his brother was safe or not, even though he had seen the same several times already.
"I think it's time to get inside again. I don't want the boys to get sick," Trisha said, and smiled to her dearest.
Hohenheim lifted Edward out of the snow again, and held him in his arms while he walked over to Trisha and Alphonse again.
The oldest boy was protesting the entire time, tried to get out of his father's arms so that he could play more.
Trisha smiled her beautiful smile while she looked at the little family.
And the winter's first snow landed safely around their feet.
A/N: Short, I know. And the ending is weird, but I hope you enjoyed it anyway^^
