No matter what Kairi did, no matter how many times he tried, every single one of his attempts of trying to catch Yaya's eye were in vain; she simply was not interested in him at all.
There was Amu, who somehow always felt a tiny pang of jealousy when she saw Ikuto talking to someone else - or in other words, another girl. There was Rima, who looked more distant on days when Nagihiko wasn't around, although she instantly denied it when it was brought up. There was Utau, who happily accepted Kukai's many invitations to come and watch his games. Yaya just wasn't like any of them. Of course, she liked Kairi – that was evident, but in her eyes, he was strictly only a friend.
Sure, she'd agreed to go to the amusement park with him that time – but that was only because it was for student council purposes. Kairi could compliment her, help her with her homework, and protect her from doing stupid things all he wanted, but it wouldn't change a single thing. Because Yaya was absolutely, absolutely not interested.
a/n: I felt like writing a drabble based on S/mileage's song 'Ama no Jaku', so I guess this is kind of a songfic? I don't even know. -n- Review if you'd like?
