Mark Sloan closed the door behind him as he entered It was a long day, one he welcomed but Mark Sloan just wanted to go fall asleep somewhere but not at home. He had been having a hard time staying at his apartment without the person he thought he would be sharing it with. He spotted a plain white envelope lying on his desk, he saw one word and immediately knew who it was from based on the handwriting. He quickly opened the envelope with Mark simply written on it, shocked at what he read. He read the report twice just to be sure. His heart seized at I just thought you should now ~ Lexie written at the bottom. He couldn't do anything but stand still trying to comprehend what the words meant. Was he dreaming this?

Upon realization, he ran out of his office. Going over to the nurse's desk, he ordered "I need to know where Dr. Lexie Grey is right now."

Lexie was exhausted. Her feet were killing her. She had been on her feet nearly the entire day and was glad her shift was almost over. The surgery was nearly over and Dr. Hunt was just closing up.

Suddenly, the door swung open. She saw Mark's angry face. All he said was, "I need to speak with Dr. Grey." She knew what this was about.

Owen was startled by the intrusion "I think it can wait, Dr. Sloan, we are in the middle of surgery."

Mark's only response was, "the nurse informed me the surgery was about to be finished and I can see she is not busy."

Owen observed them. Mark looked determined while Lexie was looking away.

"Dr. Grey, why don't you just scrub out?" Owen finally said. He really didn't need more drama, especially the drama of others.

Lexie took off her gloves and scrubbed out, moving past the door Mark had open. He immediately grabbed her arm and steered her into the hallway, walking toward an on call room.

Lexie couldn't take the silence. Nervous about his would be reaction, she mumbled, "You know, you could have waited until the surgery was done."

He said nothing. His mind whirling still. Both were aware of the close proximity. Lexie quickly shook off his arm after entering.

Lexie moved to sit on one of the beds, waiting for his reaction.

"This is how you tell me? In a fucking letter?" He took a sharp breath, trying to calm down. He knew yelling was not going to help their less than sturdy relationship. "That you are pregnant, that we are pregnant, almost needing her to confirm it, say it herself."
