Birthday Surprises

Chapter 1: Meeting the Lads

Suezanne was driving with her friend Jen on their way to Mrytle Beach. They had the car radio cranked up loud playing the newest Celtic Thunder cd Mythology. They had decided to go to Myrtle beach for Jen's birthday.

"I can't wait to hit the beach!" Jen said over the song 'Carolina Rua'.

"I know what you mean. It will be so fun. Maybe we can try surfing!" Suezanne said jokingly.

"Nah I think we should leave that to Keith." Jen joked back both girls we laughing as they went along. As they passed this large bus they looked up to see who it was. Though there was no name on the bus they could see slightly in the window.

"Hey isn't that Colm right there?" Jen asked, looking at Suezanne in surprise.

"It looks like it, I wonder what he and the others are here in the US for. The tour don't start for another month." She replied. The girls continued on past the bus. Waving the whole time. After a few hours of driving they pulled off the highway into Myrtle Beach.

"So what hotel are we staying in again?" Jen asked. Suezanne had set up the whole thing. She pulled the little card with their reservations on it down.

"It's called Camelot by the Sea. It should be around here some where. I made sure we got a room that over looked the ocean." Suezanne told her.

"Oh sweet." They found the hotel after driving down the strip a little. Suezanne pulled in to the garage to where the vale was waiting.

"Afternoon ladies. Welcome to Camelot by the Sea. I can park the car if you wish." the guy said.

"Thanks, just becareful please. It is a rare find." Suezanne said. It was a '71 Firebird convertable. The girls grabbed their bags and headed in to the hotel. After checking in with the desk they headed up to the room. As they walked in to the elevator, unnoticed by them a group of Irish lads walked into the lobby.

"Can't wait to get out on the beach." Jen said as the doors closed.

"I know what you mean. Plus some shopping." Suezanne added laughing. The girls finally made it to their rooms before even unpacking they walked on to the balcony and looked out at the view. They agreed this would be a good trip.

After settling everything in the room they decided to go find some dinner as it was late. They walked to the lobby and asked the lady behind the counter if there was any place around that was good.

"Well, there is a japanese resturant just across the way, plus a thia resturant down the road. We also have fast food places all up and down the strip." The girls decided to try the japanese resturant.

"Welcome how many?" The matria'd asked. Jen held up two fingers. They were led to a table in the middle of the resturant.

"A waitor will be with you in just a moment." the lady said. The girls ordered a few minutes later and waited. After their food arrived Suezanne looked around too see who all was in the resturant. Just as she was taking a bite of food she dropped her fork.

"What's up?" Jen asked. Suezanne didn't answer just pointed to the table next to them. Jen turned around and looked and couldn't beleive her eyes. There sitting next to them was Neil and Ryan.

"OH MY GOD." Jen said in a loud whisper. Suezanne threw her hand over her mouth. After calming down they continued to sneak looks at the men. After a couple times Neil caught Suezanne looking at him. Instead of saying anything he just winked at her. Suezanne blushed and looked away.

"You got caught." Jen teased. Just then she felt a tap on her shoulder. She looked around and Ryan was standing there.

"Actually ladies you both did." He said teasingly. He kissed Jen on the cheek and sat back at his table. Jen looked at Suezanne as she blushed. At this Suezanne started laughing slightly. At the same moment both girls thought, 'This trip just got even better.' Suezanne glanced over at the lads and noticed them talking.

"How did we get so lucky?!" She asked Jen. Jen just shrugged her shoulders and shook her head still to dumb stuck to talk. After the lads food was delivered the whispered quickly and quietly to the waitor. The waitor nodded and left. After a moment the lads picked up their plates and jioned the girls at their table. 'OMG, OMG, OMG.' That was all that was going through the girls heads.

"You lass's don't mind if we join you, do ya?" Neil asked as he sat down next to Suezanne. Ryan took the seat next to Jen.

"No, no, not at all." Suezanne said smiling brightly. Jen nodded in agreement.

"My name's Ryan and this is my pal Neil." Ryan said smiling at Jen.

"We sorta know. But it is nice to meet you both officially. I am Jen and this is my friend Suezanne. What brought you two here to Myrtle Beach?" she asked.

"Just a little vacation before the tour begins. We felt like going some where warm." Ryan said chuckling.

"What about you two?" Neil asked looking in to Suezanne's eyes.

"We are here to celebrate Jen's birthday this week." Suezanne explained blushing.

"Well Happy Birthday." Both the lads said.

"Thank you." Jen replied. The four continued to eat and talk for the next half hour. When the bill came, Ryan and Neil refused to let Jen or Suezanne pitch in. Neil helped Suezanne from her seat as Ryan did the same for Jen.

"Would you like to go for a walk on the beach?" Neil asked Suezanne as they exited the resurant.

"Yes that would be great." She replied. Ryan pulled Jen off to the side to speak with her.

"I was thinking maybe walking down the strip would you like to come?" He asked her.

"That would be nice. I would like that a lot."
