i run through these feilds,my paws sore and bleeding from the hard stone underneath.
i run and run, alone and cold, looking for shelter and possibley food.
i have left my pack behind, to live alone, but i didnt know alone was like this.
then i see you. a little black cat walking along.
i stare at you, you stare at me.
you are silent and do not move.
i twitch my ears curiosly, you flick your tail absently.
you let a small smile form on your face, and walk over.
i walk toward you, and you stop.
you point your tail in the distance, and start to walk.
i follow blindly, as you seem kind.
you twitch your nose and sniff the air, smelling out a rabbit.
i look and see it. a gray bundle of fur eating.
you step out of the grass. the rabbit is alerted by you and attempts to run.
but you leap at it and snap its neck in one swift move.
i stare in awe at your speed and skill.
you only look at me and flick your ear.
you call me over with a flick of your tail.
and i silently listen.
you drop the rabbit and push it over to me.
i am grateful for this cats generosity.
so i eat the rabbit and you sit next to me, watching the starry sky.
i continue to eat.
you look at me and allow another small smile to form on your face.
i smile back and sit up. and together, we watch the star filled sky as the bright moon shine's over us.
