Holding Hands

Tim McGee loved the way Tony's hands felt on his. They were always warm and strong. Just like his arms and the way he would hold Tim. They were comforting, knowing that Tony would never leave him or hurt him.

They hadn't come out to work about their relationship since it started four months ago. Tim was terrified of them losing their jobs. He knew how strict Gibbs was on his rules. And he knew how much he cared about Tony. He was really scared and Tony knew that.

They sat in the car for a few minutes one morning of work. Both men were quiet as Tim looked over at his boyfriend. They had been talking about coming out for a while now and Tim was finally giving in. But he was sill scared.

Tony looked over at Tim and smiled. He reached over and took Tim's hand in his own. "We don't have to do this you know."

Tim smiled back a little and gently squeezed Tony's hand. "I want to. I love you and I think that they should know. Whatever Gibbs wants to do, it's his business. Just as long as I don't lose you."

"You won't," Tony leaned over and gave Tim a soft, sweet kiss to show his promise.

The elevator ride was excruciating, Tim feeling his heart pound in his ears with each floor going up. Already hand in hand with Tony, fingers interlaced, his boyfriend gave a gentle and reassuring squeeze to the hand. Taking a deep breathe, Tim calmed himself down as the doors opened onto their floor and into the bullpen.

Tony took the first step out, leading Tim along beside him. Ziva was the first to look up and greeted them both with a smile. "Good morning Tony. McGee."

"Morning," both greeted smiling, Tim noticing that Ziva didn't acknowledge or say anything about the hand holding. Maybe she knew? It wouldn't surprise Tim to be honest.

Gibbs walked down just then from the stairs leading up to the Director's office and Tim swore his heart stopped. Keeping his cool, Tony lent a smile to their boss. "Morning, Boss."

Gibbs looked their way and Tim bit the inside of his cheek. He watched as Gibbs looked him and Tony up and down slowly. Then to his amazement he smirked a little and walked away.

"It's about time, you two."
