Disclaimer: Must I come up with another witty way to say I don't own them and I'm not making money off of them?

Feedback: "May I have some more, sir, I'm still hungry."

AN:This is only the beginning of this chapter and of course the fic. I hope this will be really long and intense but right now I have no idea where it's going. Anyway enjoy what you see and please let me know what you think. I love finding review alerts in my inbox and really it's the only tie to the outside world that I have.

CH 1 White Room

Perhaps, left to his own devices, the sterile white room would have driven him mad. As it was, a stack of that day's newspapers could be found on the pristine little table every morning when he awoke. Keeping him up to date on what was happening in the outside world was meant to achieve what being alone would have but it only helped strengthen his resolve for escape.

Flipping through the latest addition to his meager library he was shocked to find how little was being done to find him. The search had been scaled down to include only the greater Metropolis area. He'd be willing to bet most of his fortune they weren't even in Kansas anymore.

"Ha ha, if only I had Dorothy and her shoes with me right now." The thought wasn't truly amusing, but you took what you could get.

"I don't believe she'd do you any good Mr. Luthor." He hadn't heard the tall man enter the room and was even more surprised to see how close he was standing.

"Maybe not but she sure could relieve the boredom, if you know what I'm saying?"

The man didn't seem to enjoy at Lex's small attempt at light conversation, "Are you an exhibitionist Mr. Luthor?"

"Only when the mood suits me, are you a voyeur?"

"In this case, yes, more for the research than the sexual stimulation." A wry smile curved the man's mouth below his mustache.

"Tsk, tsk, you're letting your wit show, sir. I'm sure my father wouldn't be very happy about that one."

A tick in the man's jaw was the only sign that the words affected him. "Why should I care about what your father thinks of my actions?"

"I simply thought you were working for him."

"Mr. Luthor it would do you a world of good to stop thinking all together, perhaps that's what got you here in the first place." With that the man turned and left Lex staring at the silent doorway.
