Hi. This poem is set just after Shelobs lair, when Frodo is alone. He has just been taken by the Orcs and doesn't yet now that Sam is coming back for him.
I hope you like it. I'm not too sure myself but let me know what you all think.
Solitude
As I sit in the dark
Up here, all alone
The only thoughts in my head
Are my friends and home
I stare to the ceiling
Up, above my head
Where is my friend Sam?
Could he be dead?
Would he continue
And find my lost ring?
Or would he come for me
And find food to bring?
The Orcs, they took me
There is no way out now
Soon my journey must end
But I do not see how
I have nothing left
They took all I own
No weapons to fight them
Nothing more than a stone
I wish Sam was here now
Here by my side
He said no river could keep him
No matter how wide
But it wasn't a river
That tore us apart
It was the Orcs
Creatures without heart
I know now, this is the end
And Sam is far away
And for this journey
It is that which I pay
He couldn't come back
He had his own life to save
But I never said Goodbye
Not even a wave
And now I sit in the dark
Up here, all alone
The only thoughts in my head
Are of my friends and home.
