I stood on the dock, staring at the ship
That would carry me to paradise
I knew the trip was going to be rough
For a storm was brewing over the salty water
I looked back at the shore
And saw the life I was leaving behind
I saw the people on the shore
And called out for them
They were all staying, for reasons unknown
My heart cried out for them
But they stood by their decision
Now was I?
I looked at the boat once more
And saw the ones I was traveling with
I was pulled toward the boat
But I had an anchor on the beach
The whistle blew, the sail put up
Knowing there wasn't much time
I detached myself from the anchor
And let the ship pull me aboard
I looked back one last time
At the life I left behind
And wept for those still stranded
For the torment they would undergo
The storm was fierce
But I stood firm
Even though others
Were blown into the waters
We had formed a little circle
Holding each other down
And praying for deliverance
We weren't going to give up
After a while the sun came out
And we all looked out in wonder
As the sea calmed down
And the wind calmed to a mere breeze
Paradise was near now
We had made it after all
Praises filled the air
For our prayers had been answered
Overjoyed, we stepped into paradise
And wondered at the beauty
We exclaimed our praises
Atop the highest mountains
We dwelled in paradise
And ate the delicious fruit
Happiness was flowing from this land
Like a rushing flood falling from the sky
I look back and realize
That I had made the right choice
And even though my old friends were hard to leave
And the storm had mocked us
It was all worth it
That would carry me to paradise
I knew the trip was going to be rough
For a storm was brewing over the salty water
I looked back at the shore
And saw the life I was leaving behind
