Friday Night Musings.
By: Lady of Lorien
Our bus makes the short journey back to the school on Friday night. Everyone is excited, our first halftime show having gone off extremely well. We blew the rival band out of the stadium with our performance (our football team is another story).
I am content with sitting quietly with my friend and listening. The bus that I am on is mainly composed of freshmen and the few eighth graders. There are a few juniors and seniors here and there but most of them are on the first bus. I lean back in my seat and hear the craziness that is my band. Some boys in the back are singing something though I am not sure what it is or if I want to know. I now know why they are in band, not choir.
As the bus nears the school I am hit with a feeling of content, such as I had not felt in awhile. I realize that I finally have a sense of fitting in, like I belong here. I now know that band is my life and I would never give it up for the world. My thoughts are cut off as we pull up to the school. I can't wait until next Friday. I thought as a small smile reached my face.
