Splish, splash.
Salty water leaks, stinging cuts
made by falling concrete,
falling life.
Barely seeing anymore,
all around gone, gone, gone.
Cries ease into whimpers,
hating to hear the empty world
echo back.
Thump
Ignore falling debris
Clack, clack, clack.
Swoosh!
Ice cold fingers,
halting tears.
Eyes opening with wonder
Who is this man?
The man who lives,
who kneels before her
smile upon his blue face.
He nods, standing
walking away.
Nervous hands cover a mouth,
has he left, was he ever here?
Worried eyes glance down, around, everywhere and nowhere,
wishing they weren't alone
Clack, clack, clack.
Looking up at the blue man, smiling.
Taking the red bear he holds out,
hugging it with a grin.
And he speaks,
"You will never be alone again."
