Brief Worgen Race History:

Worgen are native to a world of darkness. There they wage an eternal battle with nightmarish enemies. In recent years, large numbers of Worgen have been brought to Azeroth through different sources. One of these is the Scythe of Elune, a gift supposedly from said goddess, given to Velinde Starsong to defend the forests of Ashenvale. When she began to lose control, she arranged a meeting with Arugal, another summoner of Worgen, in the town of Darkshire. When she showed him the Scythe, he showed disturbing interest in the item. She left immediately, but was pursued to Duskwood. Velinde hid the Scythe in the cave known as Roland's Doom, hoping it would never be found.

While her exact fate is not known, she did not return to Darnassus. The Scythe was found by a man named Jitters, a Defias miner who inadvertently summoned a large number of Worgen. He lost track of the Scythe while escaping, and the legendary item was misplaced for quite some time. Many evil mages were tempted by the lure of this item, and it's believed that Arugal himself held great interest in the Scythe. After an adventurer learned the above information, however, no trace of the Scythe of Elune could be found. However, a man in Northrend named Ivan may now have, or may have had, the Scythe. This man is a member of the Wolf Cult, lead by the Shade of Arugal under the command of the Lich King. If he did indeed have the Scythe at some point, it is likely in the hands of someone more sinister by now…
