Dixie looked down at the sleeping infant in the cot in front of her, never had she imagined that she would actually be a mother. When Jeff had died, the possibility seemed to be even lower than it once had been. Loneliness soon set in and she set about looking into an option that she had been investigating before her husband's death, adoption. Now, four months since she'd actively started the adoption process, she had a four week old baby.

The room that had once been Jeff's had been turned into a nursery for the tiny little boy who would one day call her mum. The room was a pale blue colour with white furniture, on the wall next to the cot had the baby's name in white letters. Harrison was tiny, having been born prematurely, he had as small amount of blonde hair on his head. Today, at four weeks old, was his first day out of the hospital. Everyday Dixie had sat next to the baby's cot, barely able to sleep due to the all-consuming worry that she felt, it had all been worth it though to finally be able to take her baby home.

No one in the ED knew about her son, she'd applied for maternity leave and had it accepted but had kept it quiet. She settled down with a cuppa, now sure that the little boy was sleeping, she was too scared to go far and instead sat on the chair in the corner of the room so she could watch him. Taking out her iphone, she snapped a picture of the sleeping tot and added it to her Facebook page with the caption, 'Meet Harrison Dixon'. She sat back for a minute and waited for the comments to pour in. From the corner of the room, the small ambulance toy that lay on top of Harrison's wardrobe, caught Dixie's eye and gave her an idea.

She took the now awake baby from his cot and changed him into something a little warmer, ready for his first walk. At first she struggled to get the pram up and running but soon enough she'd managed and had Harrison in it and strapped in.

For a while they just wandered until they made it to the cliff that had great significance to Dixie, there she took her son out of his pram and held him in her arms.

"You listening Jeff?" She spoke to her deceased husband. "I have some big news for you, I finally did it. I'm finally someone's mummy. Meet Harrison, my son." Dixie spoke, looking down at the infant before wiping a tear away from her eye. All of a sudden the sun crawled out from behind the clouds where it had been hiding and shone down on them, as if a sign of approval from Jeff. "I miss you Jeffrey."
