His dark eyes silently glanced at the blonde as she kneeled next to him on the inn's bed, dressed only in her black spaghetti strap dress.
She had slipped her knee high boots off moments before she climbed onto the inn bed; he watched her raise a hand to the wound on his arm.
A soldier who had gotten a lucky shot, he mused bitterly, watching as the wounded flesh slowly mended itself back together from her white magic, while he knew that he shouldn't completely trust her considering that she was the enemy.
While they fought several half-hearted battles it had mostly seemed like it was for show in both parties or for anyone that was watching.
Perhaps it was because he knew her before she became his enemy; that caused him to hesitate in killing her, and perhaps he would even go so far as to regard her as a friend.
Even though he was almost positive that she felt the same for him.
"You know that you will be branded as a traitor for helping me," he uttered softly, studying her face.
Golden locks cascaded over her features and he noticed her pink lips drawn into a slight frown from concentrating on the healing spell.
She nodded; she had known that long before giving her aid to him no matter how small it may be. "Well then, I guess I better be careful and don't get caught."
He frowned, noting her slight attempt to be cheery, "If you do get caught..."
"Then I won't regret my choice in helping you," she replied a bit more seriously, and it was honestly the truth. She wouldn't mind if she was branded a traitor for helping the enemy for him, because it was her choice and she knew right what she was getting into from the very beginning. Noting the slight frown on his face she quickly added, "It's my choice, Noct and you won't be able to talk me out of it."
He sighed lightly. "Then make sure they don't get any evidence to brand you as a traitor."
She nodded as he softly brushed her cheek with his hand, leaning in for a kiss and she knew that tonight would end up like every other night when they met in the secrets of the shadows.
On the battlefield they were forced to be enemies but in the shadows of night, whenever they were able to meet up, they were lovers.
Perhaps, one day, when the war was over and if both of them were still alive, they wouldn't have to hide their relationship from the eyes of the public.
