Prologue:
The scientist squinted as he looked at the dull green lights that gave the whole labrotory a swamp like color. On his desk were several test tubes and beakers, some filled with blood and others filled with various chemicals. The beakers had tubes running in and out of them and they foamed from the reactions.
He flipped through several folders in front of him. They all seemed to be in order. Next he grabbed a clipboard and got up from his swivel chair. He stood in front of a large glass tank filled with bubbleing, green goo. His pen scratched at the paper as notes were made. When he was done he moved onto the exact same tank that was beside it and flipped the page and repeated his work.
About an hour later another scientist came through the lab door that closed it self behind him.
"How's it coming?" he asked.
"All done, 1 through 40," the other scientist declared. "How are the other sectors doing"
"That doesn't really concern us. Besides, we've got special orders all the way from the head office." The second scientist replied
"What are they? Are we terminateing again?" He asked with both curiousity and a bit of annoience.
"Actually it's quite the opposite. Just look at them, I'de say that they look like they're ready wouldn't you?"
The scientist looked up at the floating object in the tank before him.
"Well alright, but what happens now?" he asked the unanswered question.
"It's quite simple really" The other science man answered. "Field testing. See how they would do in real life situations."
He then pushed a green button near him and steam emerged from the numerous capsules. It engulfed the two men.
"All the other projects have been called off in order to focus on this. This will be our shineing trophy."
The first scientist squinted again and questioned the whole operation. "I wonder how this will all turn out?" He said aloud.
"Hopefully the way we originally planned...."
His thoughts were cut off by the sound of screaming cries and sobbing of 40 newborn babies.
