Neopolitan: Shatter
(The sequel to Neopolitan: On Ice that took WAY too long to finally arrive)
A while had passed since she obtained the powers of the Winter Maiden. Cinder had successfully brought down not only Beacon, but all of Vale. But there were many casualties.
One was Roman.
That was the only casualty Neo cared about.
Though she managed to survive, she couldn't contact anyone. And it didn't seem like Cinder even bothered to come look for her. Neo looked at herself. She was bruised and scarred from head to toe. Not a pretty look for her. Not that she cared. Looking around, she saw the absolute destruction the Grimm and White Fang had caused. Buildings lay in shambles. Fires had yet to die. Bodies littered the streets.
And then she saw it.
Roman's hat.
Tears immediately streamed down her face as she ran towards it. When she got there, she also found his cane. Holding both close to her, she silently cried alone. The sudden distant roar of a Grimm made her jump and stop crying. Negativity would attract them to her. Not what she needed right now. Taking a deep breath, she put on the hat and picked up the cane. Just like when her parents had been killed, she was alone.
"I'm sorry little one."
Upon hearing that, she got her umbrella and cane ready. But there was nobody there. Calming down, she looked around. Nothing. Silent, save for the Grimm in the distance.
"Relax."
There it was again. Neo didn't like this. She hated not being able to see whoever was talking to her. That's when she realized. It was Snow. Relaxing yet again, she slowly sat down.
"Neo, I am sorry you had to go through this. Cinder has become stronger than I thought. And I understand that someone you care about was part of the price that had to be paid."
More tears streamed down her dirty face.
"But now you understand what must be done. Cinder must be stopped at all costs. She cannot be allowed to gain any more power. She knows not yet that you are one of the maidens. You have a chance. You must find the other two maidens. Lily Potts and Sunset Monochrome are their names. The last I knew, Sunset was in Vacuo, and Lily just outside the borders of Atlas. Cinder will no doubt be looking for them as well. With my help, I can hopefully get you to them before she does."
Neo nodded.
"Okay Snow. I trust you."
It was the first time in forever that she had spoken. Her voice was weak from having not been used. Every word hurt her throat. She'd been a mute for so long that she had almost forced herself to be incapable of speech.
"Good. Now, head North. There's a small home where you can rest up for a while just outside Vale's borders. You'll be safe from the Grimm as well. If you see a trail of flowers, follow it. The trail will lead you there." With a nod, Neo stood and left, passing by Yang's arm. With a surprised look on her face, she picked the arm up and removed the Gauntlet, putting it on. She'd have to return it to Blondie the next time she saw her. With a determined look on her face, she continued on.
Cinder was gonna pay.
And nobody was gonna stop her.
