So, my computer picked up a virus, and it's getting fixed as we speak, so I'm using my parent's big clunker to write silly little one-shots until I get it back.

I got the idea for this story while eating those little Dove chocolates with the sayings inside them. I just love those little things!

Language of Love

"Bugger," Tonks whispered to herself, getting up slowly after face planting into the decaying carpet of Number Twelve Grimmauld Place. That troll leg was going to be the death of her some day. She was sure of it. Still grumbling, Tonks picked up her paper bag of food that she'd purchased at a muggle store in town. Molly had only sent her to pick up a few things for dinner, but Tonks had gotten a little sidetracked. She had remembered that the full moon was fast approaching and thought it would be nice to get some chocolate for Remus to cheer him up. Tonks wandered into the kitchen and set the large bag on top of the table, laying out its contents.

Milk, carrots, a package of noodles, dark chocolate mints, chocolate truffles, a bar of milk chocolate, a bar of dark chocolate, orange flavored chocolate, chocolate with caramel fillings…So maybe she'd gone a little too far, but with roughly fourteen people staying here, it was bound to disappear eventually. To prove her point, Tonks opened a package or dark chocolate and almond chocolates. She took a handful for herself, and brought the rest to Remus, who was sitting on a moth-eaten couch in the dimly lit sitting room.

"Here," she said cheerfully, tossing a chocolate to Remus, who looked up just in time for it to hit him in the forehead. Tonks giggled. "Sorry."

"Don't apologize," said Remus picking up the chocolate fondly. "Where did you find these?"

"At a muggle store. Molly sent me to pick up some things," Tonks explained, unwrapping a chocolate herself and popping it into her mouth. She chewed it thoughtfully, happening to look down at the empty wrapper in her hand. She smiled to herself as she read the small message printed on the inside of it. "Remus?"

"Yes?" Remus asked through a mouthful of chocolate.

"Did you know?" began Tonks, walking over to him and sitting just a bit to close. "Chocolate speaks the international language of love."

Remus promptly began choked, and Tonks patted him on the back a bit until he'd regained the ability to breath properly. "Excuse me?" he spluttered.

"Here, look for yourself," Tonks said, handing Remus the small piece of foil. Remus went pink.

"Oh, I see."

Tonks grinned. "I don't think you'd have any problems with that language barrier now, would you?"

"Um, well…no, I suppose not," said Remus, handing the small wrapper back to Tonks.

"Neither would I," she said quietly, but he didn't hear her, already re-absorbed in the book that lay in his lap. Tonks sighed, getting up and leaving Remus to read, walking back to the kitchen. She realized that she still had the package of chocolates in her hand. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to open a few more. After all, she might just gain the advice she needed to finally make Remus realize what he was missing.
