Summary: Grissom leaves for Williams and finds a surprise. Fluffy GSR.

Spoilers: anything after 6x24 "Way to Go"… particularly "Leaving Las Vegas".

Grissom sighed unhappily as he walked out of the lab. He wished he could have shared a more proper goodbye with Sara, but they'd been at work. The entire situation of the private (hmm, hmm, secret, hmm, hmm) relationship was enough to drive anyone crazy, much less cause slight discontent where work was concerned.

After he'd walked out the door, Sara stared down at her jacket, numbly praying that these four weeks would fly by. Thus far in their relationship, she and Grissom had spent one, maybe two days apart at a time. Four weeks was far too long. Her eyes sparkled brightly when she recalled the little present she'd left him in his suitcase.

Grissom walked into the room that Williams had supplied him with. Already, a small, twinging ache had fallen sullenly into the depths of his gut. All he wanted was to be home, wrapping his arms gently around his lover. He sighed and laid his suitcase across the bed. Once he was done unpacking, he could call Sara. The problem was, he had to work up the energy to actually unpack. Finally he sighed once again and began pulling his shirts out of the largest piece of luggage.

Suddenly, a shiny bag caught his attention. He picked it up, quickly discovering that it was approximately 10 pounds of Hershey Kisses. His eyebrows knitted together and he gently tore the note off the side.

"Hey Babe,

I knew you'd miss me almost as much as I already miss you, so I wanted you to have

something to remember me when you can't call or whenever. This is all those kisses that I

won't be able to give you while you're gone. You can eat them whenever you miss me!

XOXOXOXO"

Sara had scribbled her initials at the bottom of the note and surrounded the body of the message with little hearts and XO's. He smiled when he thought of her writing all those little doodles, probably giggling the whole time. He quickly picked up his phone and left her a message at the house they shared.

"Hey Sara…. I just got in… I got your… well, I don't actually know what to call it, but I appreciate it. I hope they have a candy store around here, because these are only going to last a little while… I miss you… more than you know… sigh… well, I guess I'll call you later… I love you… Bye."

"BEEP!"

Sara smiled sadly as she played his message for the umpteenth time. Suddenly the phone rang. "Sidle. Hey, babe… what's up?... yeah? I miss you too…."
