Yein Dovahkiin!
"I can take you back to Tamriel." "Thank you Tsun" I'm ready to return back to the living." "Then so be it" "When your days are counted, I'll welcome you back with open arms." "Before I send you back, allow me to teach you a new shout." "This shout will allow you to call upon a Hero of Sovngarde." The DragonBorn felt the word embedded into his mind. Afterwards, Tsun shouted, and the DragonBorn felt himself fall into a slumber.
When he woke up, he was surrounded by Paarthurnax and other dragons. They all shouted in the dragon tongue as they flew around. The DragonBorn noticed the grim look on Paarthurnax's face, but decided not to say anything. He made the trek down the mountain. He walked onwards towards Riverwood. It took him a couple days, but he made it. As he walked on towards The Sleeping Giant Inn, he noticed that nobody was in the village. This struck him as strange, but he figured they were just inside their homes.
When he got inside the inn, he was showered with cheers and shouts. Everyone was there to congratulate him on his victory against Alduin. After a good number of drinks, Sven had something to say. "Can I get your attention everyone?" "I got a courier yesterday deliver a letter to me." "Apparently, there is an old song from long ago." "In the name of the DragonBorn, I would like to perform it."
"Alduin's wings, they did darken the sky,
His roar fury's fire, and his scales sharpened scythes.
Men ran and they cowered, and they fought and they died.
They burned and they bled as they issued their cries."
"We need saviors to free us from Alduin's rage,
Heroes on the field of this new war to wage.
And if Alduin wins, man is gone from this world,
Lost in the shadow of the black wings unfurled."
"But then came the Tongues on that terrible day.
Steadfast as winter, they entered the fray.
And all heard the music of Alduin's doom,
The sweet song of Skyrim, sky-shattering Thu'um."
"And so the Tongues freed us from Alduin's rage,
Gave the gift of the Voice, ushered in a new Age!
And if Alduin's eternal, then eternity's done,
For his story is over and the dragons are gone."
Everyone cheered as Sven finished the song. The rest of the night was filled with cheers and stories. Everyone went to their homes late in the night, and Orgnar let the DragonBorn sleep in a room for free. From then on, wherever the DragonBorn went, he was thanked by guards, nobles, and citizens alike.
Author's Note: Hope you enjoyed this oneshot. I got inspired to do this while listening to the cover of Tale of the Tongues by Malukah. I would suggest giving it a listen. It's just incredibly amazing. I'll see you all next time. Have a good one.
