"Don't make any jokes about my weight!"

You aren't heavy, you're very light. I felt her head press against my shoulder blades as I made my way up the hospital staircase.

You're very cold. You're thin. You're so fragile but you're shining with all your might. You're beautiful.

"A-Are you s-sure the doctor a-allowed this?"

"I'm hundred percent sure!"

It's winter of course he didn't allow it. that or I worry too much. Maybe both.

I set her down on one of the benches and softly kissed her forehead. A soft giggle left her mouth that only made me smile. Small drops of snow started to come down. She tore open her bag of canalés and held one out for me. I refused, she shrugged her shoulders and merely ate it herself.

"H-How does i-it feel to s-spend christmas i-i-in the hospital."

"Not that different from usual. Oh that reminds me!" She reached into the small pocket of her vest and held up a necklace it wasn't anything super expensive but it had a pretty sapphire gemstone which I thought was really beautiful.

"Merry christmas Alice Richardson." Before I knew it the girl was already turning me around after climing on the bench. Her arms wrapped around my neck and before I knew it I could feel the cold gemstone press against my neck.

I turned on the heel of my shoe and stared into her blue orbs. Even covered in snow she looked pretty. Like she had been ever since we met give years ago.

I reached into my pocket and removed a small folded paper. She snatched it out of my hand before I even got to say anything.

"N-Not so g-greedy, M-Miss Richardson."I simply smiled as she unfolded the sheet and read it over. It wasn't long till tears filled her eyes and she tackled me to the ground in sheer happiness, I simply laughed as I explained.

"Y-You kept talking a-about adoption s-so I got u-us a form. R-remember tha p-paper I let you s-sign? O-Our r-request g-got approved. T-They're looking for an appropriate child f-for us."

She was crying but this time not from sadness, those were tears of you Candy Richardson was shedding. My arms wrapped around her form and held her close, a stupid smile on my lips.
