After they'd split up, Dean had tracked the GPS on Richie's phone. Sometimes Dean hated being right, the moron had gotten himself killed as predicted.
Sam had cut off his call with meet at the bar in twenty minutes.
Dean figured by flirting he'd get the bartender to meet him after her shift. Unfortunately she countered his offer with "Why wait," and Dean'd realized now might be his only chance.
At least he was sure Sam would figure it out and catch up to them. After his earlier quick trip to the store everything was ready to gank that skank
