Red hair, green eyes, and a freckled face; they put him under a spell, a curse bestowed upon him; Look, but don't touch.
The red hair, like the fire of desire burning inside him; the longer it grew, the higher and hotter the fire became; green eyes, ponds of green envy he felt to all the other boys who touched her and talked to her; and the freckles covering her face like the veil of holes he used to cover up his love; perfect, until upon closer inspection do you see the holes and what they reveal.
Charms class, she triumphed. Her concentration, her laughter, the words she said made his spell grow stronger, the curse unbearable. Distraction was all he had, without it he would be miserable. Her charms more advanced and perfect than the other girls; no wonder she was head of the class.
Transfiguration, he triumphed. He could change anything, but he couldn't hide its true identity. The love, the desire, the spell she had him under were all changed into taunting teasing, immature pranks on her, and lust he pretended he had for other girls. Transfiguration was a very useful subject; a skill used for life after Hogwarts.
Potions class, they suffered. She wanted another boy who had a girlfriend; he wanted her. A never ending game of cat and mouse.
Astronomy, they understood. Studying the stars and their meanings made them understand the world. He couldn't understand why she ignored him; she couldn't understand why she felt what she felt towards the annoying boy who made life at Hogwarts hell. They did not understand the stars; no one usually does until reality and fate began to tell the tale of love and life
Defense Against the Dark Arts, they learned to protect themselves. He fought pretend duels with Siruis, playing out tragic deaths. She looked on with disgust and amusement, and….attraction? Had he cast a spell without knowing it?
Herbology, they grew like the plants from childhood into adulthood; from loathing into like, like into love. As partners they raised a plant, watching it grow as did their relationship.
Her red hair, her green eyes, her freckles were his blessing; the bliss he found in the emerald green eyes was indescribable; he drowned in it and didn't want to be saved.
