Sally Before the Stitches- Chapter 1

Beginning a new life was easy, ending the old was hard. From where I came from, life was a challenge. Fighting for food, drink and shelter were just the basics. For just having a breath, was the difficult part. In my world, life is a reality show. You can win, but you can lose.

This morning, I found myself sleeping on a mattress. "Wow." I said to myself. I hadn't slept this good since Dad was home. Looking around, I see many blood-stained sheets and shirts. I could also see a crack in the window, as also in the door. As I stretched out my arms, I saw a cut on my elbow. "Must've fought hard for this." I said to myself once again. I took the audacity and went out of the room to observe the rest of the house. Mimi was on the couch and Mom was on the recliner. Then, I looked at the time on the crappy cable box. It read 6:45 am. "Oh shit!" I said, cause school starts in a half an hour.

The outfit I was in looked fine, but I put on fresh panties and a bra. Then I went to the bathroom, put my hair in a ponytail, and brushed my teeth. Got my Converse on, my phone, and my backpack. I stole 10 bucks from the kitchen counter. "Probably mom's drug money." So, I took it anyways. Then, I left for another glorious day at school.

When I was right near the bus stop, I saw his face. His name was Orlando. When he gets to school, every girl stops and stares at him. Everyone calls him Bloom because well…you probably get the picture right? But he is 10 times hotter than the original Orlando. His face is paved with a God-like face. The eyes, crystal blue, like the water. And his hair, curled black like the Cheetos. I wanted him so bad, that I wanted to fight for him, no matter what.

As I approached the bus stop, he came toward me. I had goosebumps, because going near him, was like seeing Justin Bieber for the first time in person. He then stood next to me and said, "Hey Sally." I looked up at him slowly and said faintly, '"Hey." Then I turned my head swiftly to the street. "So", he said," are you ready for Mr. Gerber's algebra test?' Then I took a deep breath and said, "Yeah, I am." Facing the street, he said "Cool." Finally, the bus came. Like I didn't want it to come because I wanted to talk to Orlando more, but I had nothing else to say. So then I moved to the front of the line, while Orlando was in the back with his buddies. Since the school doesn't provide yellow buses, we have to take city buses. I slid my card in, took it out, and sat in the front. Then, Orlando and his buddies passed me by.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Sally Ragatoni. I currently live with my mom and sister, because my dad is in the war with Afghanistan. It had been tough ever since he left, we are poor, dirty, and just stupid. My mom is smoking, taking drugs, and drinking too much. I usually throw everything away, but she goes out anyways and buys more. The one who was on the couch, is Mimi, my sister. She's usually a rebel girl. Sometimes she's aggravated, gets detention, skips school, or just act plain darn stupid. Usually at night, mom gets drunk or high and starts acting stupid. She gets topsy-turvy, yells at me and Mimi for no reason, or just sits on the couch and sleeps off the hangovers. When we go to bed, Mom usually argues that she wants the bed. We only have 1, so it's a fight to the finish. Even she hits things if she doesn't her way. I usually leave, just to get away from the madness.

In my home, you can think of it as a never-ending nightmare. Interpret it into my idea, it's just like living in hell. Let's say that you come over, and experience what I go through. In my home, it's so scary and violent, you might wanna consider leaving, forever.
