A/N: This is something I wrote back around New Year's. I'd had a dream that my ex-boyfriend told me that he still loved me and was wrong for thinking our relationship couldn't work. (He was the one who broke us up.) I was really upset about it and when I'm upset, sometimes I just need to write. This poem is the product of that. This poem could work for any character in any story, anime, or movie, but I finally decided to use it for Scott after Jean died in X2.
Broken
Just when I'm thinking
That I've erased you from my heart
There you are again
And it's tearing me apart
You lurk in my thoughts
And you haunt me in my dreams
I'm having trouble letting go
You still have part of me it seems
I keep looking around
for someone new
But in the end all my
Thoughts lead back to you
I don't know why
I keep feeling this way
I knew it wouldn't last
I knew you wouldn't stay
I'm tired of shedding
All these tears for you
And I'm tired of all these
Emotions I'm going through
I suppose I fell hard
But had no one to catch me
My wounds are healing slowly
Time will tell and we'll soon see
If I'm strong enough
to get through this
As I wait for someone new
And with her a new first kiss.
