The Puurrfect Pair

"Jon, I want to thank you for going to my play. I appreciate having a friend there to watch." Felicia said, standing just outside the apartment door. Jon had gotten angry hours before the play, and snapped at her. He had payed her back for his taking things out on her by going and watching her sing, and she felt she'd gotten the most applause from him. She'd come to appreciate his presence, even when he was cranky.

"I'm glad you asked me to go. It turned out to be pretty good."

Felicia smiled and threw her arms around him. "Thanks, Jon!"

For once, Jon didn't squirm in her arms and try to get away; he actually hugged her back. Felicia blushed crimson and pulled back, not sure what to make of this man that continued to change before her eyes. The circumstances in which they met had not been good, but since the months of knowing each other and spending time living in the same places, they had grown attatched to each other; or so Felicia liked to think. They entered the apartment.

"Well, goodnight, Jon!" She said, smiling and waving a giant kitty paw at him. She turned and headed towards her room.

"Felicia."

Something about the way Jon had said her name made her stop in her tracks. It was like the howl that she had heard during the fight when they first met; it was a lonely sound. She turned her head slightly to catch his figure in her periferal vision, justs as he wrapped his arms around her waist. Felicia tried not to gasp when she felt his warm arms around her. She pulled away slightly, and turned around to face him.

"Jon... are you okay?"

Jon frowned a little and averted his eyes from hers, as if embarassed to say anything, but Felicia seemed to understand. She hugged him around the waist.

"Don't worry, Jon. I'm not going to leave if I become famous. I'm going to stay right here with you and be your friend. I won't let you be lonely anymore."

Jon reached one hand up and stroked Felicia's cheek, a sad smile on his face. Before Felicia knew what was happening, he'd leaned down and planted a kiss right on her lips. Her eyes widened involuntarily, and she let out a startled gasp; then another when Jon embraced her and deepened the kiss.

"J-jon?"

Jon hushed her. "Shhh.."

Felicia's first instinct was to pull away and question if he'd been drinking, but her eyes slid shut and she soon found herself kissing him back. It was then that both Jon and Felicia began to hear a rumbling sound, which they both realized was coming from deep within Felicia's own throat.

She was purring.

With that, Jon pulled away gently and chuckled. "I always wondered if you'd do that."

"What?"

"Purr when you're kissed. I know you purr when you sleep."

Felicia blushed a deep crimson and shuffled her feet in embarassment, nearly stepping on one of Jon's feet in the process. She scolded herself silently for having been born with big feet.

"Well... I guess you need some time... to think thing's over... I know... I was acting a little fast..." Jon said, trying to speak clearly but finding it hard to do so.

"O-okay. G-goodnight." Felicia murmered, turning and going to her room.

An hour later, Jon heard purring and a scratching at the door. He sighed, got up and moved quietly across the room. When he opened the door, he immediately looked down to see Felicia, in cat form, at his feet.

"Merow."

He chuckled and closed the door behind her. "Alright, just don't scratch me to wake me up this time."

Jon went to sleep with a cat at his side, and woke up with a cat-woman; her arms wrapped around him and her soft purring in his ear.
