Cain's Ignored Saviour

Darquesse wasn't that different from Valkyrie Cain.

They looked the same.

They shared a body for Heaven's sake!

But the body doesn't count. It's the fact that they share a soul.

They were one entity.

One person.

A single mage.

Why is it that nobody sees this?

Valkyrie was loved, cherished and enjoyed.

Darquesse is only feared and hated.

Sure, she had the remnants, but what were they? Pathetic evil spirits that don't have bodies to call their own.

They were creatures made from hate and spite. They didn't have their own memories, only those they had stolen.

They weren't people with their own opinions! They didn't even know the difference between the good and the downright bad.

They didn't understand or know the power of humanity. The swelling force humans compel. They only saw weakness.

Darquesse was Valkyrie's defensive side. Her back bone. She was the one to step in and save her sorry butt.

She was Cain's saviour!

She ripped her from Death's clutches and over loaded her magic! She should be loved by all those who love Val.

After all, she was the one who kept handing her back to them intact. Well...Sort of intact. Just a bit of mental scarring here and there.

But they didn't. They didn't love her. They didn't appreciate her actions; they only quivered and whimpered at them.

Well the time for love and appreciation is over! It was her time now. Her time to shine.

Prove to them all that Darquesse, the world breaker, would not bow down for lowly affection. She would show them all that Valkyrie Cain's time as a goodie-goodie was up.

She was now the maddest baddie around. Nothing would step between her and victory. She would show everyone what it was like to be neglected and hated.

To be hunted, trapped and isolated. She would give them ultimate payback.

She would tear their precious, ancient world down with a sweep of her pale arm and a flick of her dainty wrist.

She would laugh along with their screams and giggle with their sobs.

Mercy had slipped from her mind like water from a leaky cup. It had no place to go, but out.

Sure she could feel sanity slipping away from her. But she didn't care. This gave her a new perspective. This only made her more dangerous. The walls that braced her upright and in place were slipping, allowing access to parts of her mind more twisted, more cruel that it is now. That made her unpredictable. And she loved it.

Nobody would understand her mind. Not even her.

Yet again that didn't matter. Nothing really matters anymore.

Not even the precious skeleton.

So this was the glorious moment Darquesse had been building up?

The moment when Valkyrie finally got the message that her time was up and she wasn't needed anymore.

It was her world now. She did what she wanted, nobody could tell her otherwise.

She wanted nothing more than to pulverise it.

Smash it.

Tear it down.

No more waiting. No more lying dormant. Only action awaited her.

She was the Queen of disaster and nobody is going to stop her spectacular performance.

This is another one of my one-shots I wrote at an ungodly hour of the morning then ended up being proud of.
