Mario walked toward Bowser, who was not acting like his own cocky self. In fact, he was acting rather depressed.
"Mario..." Bowser sighed. It seemed as if he was Mario's mother about to tell him someone they knew died. Thats what scared him.
This didn't seem right, the Great Mario in a dark room all alone. This wasn't the plumber we all knew. He felt like a failure. He felt like it was his fault she did it. He felt like he wasn't there for her and now the price has been paid. The price of a life and someone he was madly in love with.
"Mario...I'm sorry," Bowser hung his head low.
"Bowser, whats going on?" asked Mario, scared of Bowser's behavior. "Where's Peach?"
"She's...in there..." Bowser pointed to a door and turned around as if he was going to cry. Mario slowly walked toward the door and cautiosly opened it terrified of what he might see. The door creaked eerily and he walked inside. The room was probably the most comfortable prisonor's room existing. It looked a little like her room. Mario scanned the room with his eyes. Something caught his eye. It was her, lying on the bed.
"Peach?" said Mario in a high voice, almost squeeking. There was blood on the floor, trailing over to the bed and reaching Peach. "Oh no," he whispered.
The image still hung in his mind, haunting his dreams and his thoughts. He couldn't eat. And if he did sleep he'd have dreams about what he saw that day. All he did all day was stay at home in his room. Luigi grew more worried every day about Mario, and he tried to cheer him up many times, but nothing seemed to work. They both never thought she would commit suicide...
Mario ran over to the bed, kneeling down by it and grasping her hand firmly so his knuckles turned white. "Peach! You're alive, right? Come on, don't do this..." he traied off and started sobbing out of control. "Don't die, dammit!" he screamed. Deep down he knew she was gone, but he wouldn't accept it.
Bowser cringed at the sound of Mario's pain, for he experienced the same loss years ago. The screaming brought Bowser to his knees crying.
"Peach..." Mario whispered, lying his head next to hers. Suddenly Mario's saddness turned to pure rage, realising this was all Bowser's fault. He got up and stormed out of the room to find Bowser standing on his balcony.
"Bowser, you bastard! I'm going to kill you!" screamed Mario.
"I've caused everyone enough pain, and now it's time for that to end," Bowser said slowly. Then he slipped over the ledge. Mario ran over to look over the ledge and saw Bowser on the ground, dead. He didn't know what to think. All he could do was cry.
Mario's head came up when Luigi knocked on his door.
"Come in..." said Mario in a raspy voice.
Luigi entered the room. "Hey, Mario. Wanna come for a walk with me?"
"No thanks."
Luigi's face expression turned worried. "Mario, you've been in your room all day. Come out and do something. You're really making me worry."
Mario sighed. "Luigi, I don't need you to worry about me. I'm a grown man."
"Well...I'm going. I really hope you change your mind." Luigi shut the door, leaving Mario in his depression and sorrow once more.
